Making Out: Speed Dating

As part of A Month About Making, Craft Victoria presents Making Out: Speed Dating, a free professional development event designed to give ten emerging craft and design practitioners the opportunity to pitch their ideas to ten industry professionals. Take part in this unique chance to speak to noted designers, directors and managers such as:

  • Penny Modra, editor of Three Thousand and a founder of Is Not Magazine
  • Ewan McEoin, Artistic Director, State of Design Festival and co-editor, Melbourne and Sydney Design Guides
  • Magdalena Moreno, Director, The South Project
  • Christine Ledwich, Retail Manager, National Design Centre
  • Chloe Quigley, Director, design studio Ortolan, Founder and Director of Michi Girl
  • Daryl West-Moore, Manager, Design, National Gallery of Victoria
  • Melanie Katsalidis, Jeweller, Director of Pieces of Eight gallery
  • And of course, representatives from Craft Victoria include Joe Pascoe our director, Carmel McKie our acting Retail Manager and Nella Themelios our Curatorial Officer.
The event will be MC-ed by Esther Anatolitis, General Manager and CEO of SYN media and will be held on Friday 15 August from 12 to 1pm at Craft Victoria. To apply, email your CV to
