Introducing... Precious Porcelain

This week, CLOG meets Melbourne makers Precious Porcelain who create and assemble fine white porcelain shapes like teardrops, rhombuses and circles into amazingly delicate necklaces and brooches. Don't forget to also check out Precious Porcelain's entry in our In The Making members' exhibition - superb!

We are...
Jamima Wu and Jia Jia Chen of Precious Porcelain, a Melbourne based collaborative label specialising in hand crafted porcelain products.

We make...
Presently our attention is focused on creating a distinct brand of porcelain Jewellery.

As for inspiration...
We find travel is always the great inspirer, it's constantly opening our eyes to see things under a different light and also exposes us to a incredible array of new experiences. Music and light are also important sources of inspiration and has also been essential for creating the right vibe/atmosphere in which to make our jewellery.

The first thing we do in the morning is...
Our mandatory morning ritual of coffee, cake and cigarettes before we can think straight. Once heads have started to clear, discussion shall generally commence on what we hope to achieve with the day and some sort of plan will be devised.

...and the last thing before bed
Music and light reading.

This weekend we are...
Jamima is travelling around in Japan and Jia Jia will be working.

Find us around Melbourne at...
Natural Tucker bakery, this is our current favourite morning cafe; they have amazing cakes and bread. Northcote Potters, this is where we purchase all our pottery supplies and where we have all our pieces fired. It's always a pleasure as Paul and Ray are great sources of knowledge and advice and have been there with us from the very beginning. Also any gardens, supermarkets, hardware stores and op-shops.
