Vipoo's Thai feast

The opening last night at Uber Gallery was an effervescent affair with the long awaited solo show by Vipoo Srivalasa. Here he is (on the right) with designer-maker Simon Lloyd. Simon is one of five local ceramicists that Vipoo is taking today to Thailand, where they will encounter Thai culture and meet local artists. Vipoo is then bringing a host of Thai ceramicists to Melbourne in October. The Thai invasion promises an enlivening injection of baroque splendour, certainly if Vipoo's work is anything to go by.
