While the rest of Melbourne braced itself against unseasonally cold spring gales, a large crowd gathered in a secluded nook of the Yarra to celebrate a wonderful new craft facility. Phil Stokes glass studio has moved into the Mercator at the Abbotsford Convent site. Overlooking the Children's Farm, the studio offers glass blowers and visitors an idyllic setting to escape from the routines of the city to embrace the mysteries of making. Pictured is David Herbert, one of the glass artist's who can avail himself of this facility.
