Fresh Goods: No bones about it

With the fabulous array of skulls in Gallery 1 at the moment, it's no wonder that yours truly is suddenly smitten with all things skeletal. We thought we'd round up a special skull and bones edition of Fresh Goods for your enjoyment (and ours too actually).


Perennial favourite Tim Fleming and his reversible perspex skulls - pink on one side and mirrored on the other. You might say they are 'two-faced', hehe!


A pair of Caracus earrings by Fiona Watkins (you can read more about this lovely lady here). Don't the little skulls remind of Día de los Muertos? (which is the Mexican holiday - Day of the Dead). The earrings are propped up on the aforementioned skull. Mmm... multi-functional.


New porcelain bones from Gregory Bone-asera. OK it's actually Gregory Bonasera, yours truly couldn't resist! Resting on them is an Iggy and LouLou skull pendant, and on the left a pair of complementary skull cufflinks.

And of course, Emerge leather skull keyrings carefully crafted by Emma Greenwood. You'll never lose your keys with these dangling off them. You won't want to!

Spring goodies 2.0: Jewellery edition

As promised, here is the second instalment of new deliveries this month (so far!) This round there's lots of jewellery and pretty shiny things - something for the magpie in us all!

Hot on the heels of her fast-selling first delivery of delicate oxidised silver and bright silver necklaces, earrings and studs, Adelaide-based Katrina Weber has mailed us another collection from her Kitty Came Home range featuring umbrellas, pears, birds, love letters, maple leaves and stars.

It sure has been a month for blink-and-you'll-miss-it jewellery, and Katheryn Leopoldseder has just delivered a new batch of her silver and pearl pieces.

COUNTER is proud to welcome Anette Kortenhaus as one of our newest stockists. Anette has a beautiful collection of silver studs, rings, brooches and a very special neckpiece small to big (pictured left). The neckpiece can be worn either open ended, wrapped around your neck, or one of the smaller circles may be slipped into a larger one to close the neckpiece. Stunning! And innovative. Another standout piece is the flowerless brooch (pictured at the bottom) which is a long, slim brooch made from silver and acrylic.

Vicki Mason and some brand new work from the Offcuts series. The earrings and necklaces are handstitched and made from sterling silver and hand-dyed PVC that comes in solid colours. Take your pick between cherry red, dove grey or burgundy.

And last but definitely not least, we have new DNA-inspired earrings and necklaces from Bonny Lad and more reticulated silver 'pearl' stud earrings and dangly earrings in a short and long length in either oxidised or bright silver. Spoilt for choice!

Fresh Goods: Spring edition

Right now we're just about inundated with 'Spring' puns (Spring into Fashion week anyone? Put a spring in your step? Spring fever?) so we'll do everyone a favour and get down to business. It's the start of a new season, the winter layers are slowly being shed (but unfortunately not the winter weight... yet), and the days are getting longer. Although it just might be because we've been receiving such a steady flow of great new work that it feels like the sun is always shining down on us anyway. Aww!

First up, new alphabet brooches in cherry red or blond wood from our Tasmanian friends Dick and Dora. A is for Apple, B is for Boy and C is for Come have a look...

Ceramicist Gregory Bonasera, whom some of you may have seen at the recent Meet Your Maker event, has dropped off a fantastic black mili bowl (to go with your white mili bowls of course) as well as the very-very last edition of his fruit tree bowl - that's the artist's proof pictured second! Also do have a look at Gregory's window display next to enCOUNTER.

Ewa Card has dropped off some new bird and people-scape brooches and neckpieces. We have lots of designs available so do ask to see them all!

New mouthblown glass works from Holly Grace. According to Holly, "The flattened surface of the leaf form becomes a 3D canvas to explore colour. Becoming an abstract painting that highlights the transparent and intrinsic qualities of glass and its capacity to interact with light." We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
